Trump missed the 14th red on the way to a maximum in frame 25. Watch on YouTube. It was the record 100th century break of the event. The players also beat the record for most centuries in a match at the Crucible with 11.

Trump becomes the 21st player to be crowned world champion. It was his second World final, eight years after the first one lost to the same John Higgins.

This was the eighth World final for Higgins and the fourth time he finished runner-up.
