Report

Stephen Hendry won a record seventh world title by defeating Welshman Mark Williams 18-11. He was always in control in the final and made two more century breaks and a lot of 60+ breaks. He took the last frame in style with an 88 break.

He's now won more World Championships than any other player in the modern era. Steve Davis and Ray Reardon are next in line with six titles apiece.

The scot earned 230.000 for winning the game's greatest event. Williams received a "mere" 135,000.

Hendry has now won 31 ranking events and 70 major titles. He is "only" second in the new world rankings, but he'll certainly be trying his best to regain the number one spot he held for so many years.
