After beating Peter Ebdon 5-2, Steve Davis said: "Peter is the bravest player I've ever played against. He's definetely got the heart to go and win the world title soon." Jimmy White had previously played Nigel Bond six times and lost the last five, but yesterday he won 5-2. White said: "I was pleased to close that door because when he came back to 3-2 I was a litte bit anxious." Mark Johnston-Allen continued his giant-killing as he sent Ronnie O'Sullivan crashing out. O'Sullivan battled in the seventh frame, gaining the three snookers he needed to stay alive, but then failed to clear up. Johnston-Allen now faces Jimmy White in the quarter-finals.
