This was King's first ranking title and first final since the 2004 Irish Masters.
King was 1-5 down before winning 6 frames in a row. Hawkins took the next two, and another one went one a piece.
In frame 16, King forced a black ball respot, needing a snooker. Then he tried to double the black to the middle, but missed and Hawkins took the frame to force the decider.
